Renewed Burden for the Church in Oakland

The church in Oakland was first established in 1994 with over 20 Chinese speaking saints. These saints began to meet as the church in Alameda with the purchase of the current meeting hall in Alameda in 2013. Starting in December 2020, brothers in the East Bay began to coordinate for the Lord’s move in Oakland, and in 2021, a weekly prayer time began. There are 30-50 saints from the churches in Alameda, Berkeley, Hayward, Pleasant Hill and Pleasanton who live in the greater Oakland area.

Oakland has a population of 440,981 in 2021. It is the 3rd largest city in the Bay Area and the 8th most populated city in California. It is the largest city in California without a lampstand. Oakland has undergone a demographic change in the last 40-60 years. Within the last decade, it has been ranked the most socio-culturally diverse city in America.

Please pray that the Lord would regain a lampstand in this key city for His up-to-date move and for a shining testimony of the one new man!
